 We define the expression 'Performance Management' in the workplace as:
"Measuring what people do and how they do it"
Managing the performance and behaviour of staff can often be the hardest part of a management role. In our experience, we have found that most managers are competent with the 'technical' aspects of the area they work within - it is in the area of managing the actual people issues where they sometimes struggle.
To support organisations, management teams and individuals with Performance Management, gmd people have been involved in a variety of ways:
- Development of performance management tools, such as induction, appraisal processes and development centres to support organisations proactively develop their staff - click on the links for more information;
- Design and delivery of lively and very interactive workshops to give managers some 'safe' experience and a bit more confidence to manage their people;
- We have worked on a one to one basis with many managers in a range of sectors both private and public to coach them through what are for them, difficult situations they need support with.
